External Communications Assistant

About the Role

As an External Communications Assistant at St John Ambulance, you will support the External Communications and Engagement team to enable it to function efficiently and effectively. This involves maintaining administration systems as well as being the first point of contact for media enquiries. The External Communications Assistant supports the execution of St John Ambulance campaigns and positions stories positively with the media. This involves writing media releases, developing content for social media, copy, creative briefs for suppliers, setting up interviews and carrying out other broader minor external communications related tasks. 

About You

You will be engaging and passionate about the delivery of quality external communications to enable our organisation to function effectively, you will have some experience in copywriting and editing as well as having provided support in a communications environment.

St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Much of our front-line delivery is provided by our dedicated and highly-trained volunteers.
