Meningitis resources and lesson plans

Meningitis is a potentially life-threatening condition that can be caused by bacteria or a virus. Young children, babies and university students are most at risk of meningitis and it can be fatal.

If spotted early, meningitis can be treated leading to a full recovery.

Lesson overview – meningitis

This first aid teaching module is designed to help students to identify the signs of meningitis and to know what to do if they suspect that someone has meningitis.

The lesson plan includes suggested timed activities such as creating a poster highlighting the warning signs of meningitis.
