St John Home in Whitstable, Kent

The St John Home in Whitstable provides accommodation, residential and nursing care for up to 18 older people.

About St John Home

St John Home is a well-regarded local care home founded by four Whitstable women in 1947. It provides daily care and nursing needs for its residents, and is the only care home we operate.

Management of the home

We retain, alongside our registered manager, the legal responsibility for meeting the requirements in the Health and Social Care Act. As well as, the associated Regulations about how the home is run.

We provide infrastructure and support to the registered manager to ensure the service meets these requirements.

Care Quality Commission report

In September 2018, St John Home was inspected by the Care Quality Commission. It was awarded an overall rating of 'Good' with 'Good' given in Safe, Effective, Caring, and Well-Led.

The full report is available on the Care Quality Commission's website: Summary Report.

'The inspectors were very complementary of the overall care provided to residents. The report reflects the improvement made in ensuring people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and that people received care that respected their right to privacy and which promoted their dignity.'

- Jade Quittenton, National Care Manager
