Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships

About the Role

As Head of Philanthropy, Partnerships and Special Events, you will lead the development and implementation of a strategy focused around philanthropy, corporate partnerships and special events. Using your management and leaderships skills, you will drive growth in funding across St John Ambulance and work closely with senior stakeholders to support in the development of successful donor relationships across all income streams.

A key responsibility in this role is to create, manage and develop relationships with high net worth and corporate supporters and prospects to maximise their lifetime support for the charity. You will explore and understand how current strategies resonate with the interests and aspirations of potential supporters and provide effective and consistent line management to direct reports creating a culture that is in line with SJA values.

The role is Fixed term, one year maternity cover.

About You

You will have significant experience personally securing six and seven-figure gifts from individual donors some of which will have involved working with senior volunteers and staff in the development of relationships. You will ideally have established a Philanthropy function within a large organisation and you must have experience managing a team of Philanthropy fundraisers. Your strength is your ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels with stakeholders and supporters and to drive income growth through this engagement.
