St John Ambulance is now an Approved Activity Provider for the DofE programmeDofE AAP logo.

We're excited to announce that we are now an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the skills section of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We are one of only 21 organisations, including Oxfam, to have this status.

AAPs are organisations whose opportunities for young people have been approved by the DofE and can count towards the Award.

Our new status as an AAP will enable us to reach even more young people doing their DofE, especially those who aren't St John Ambulance Cadets.

Meeting the highest standards

First aid is the fifth most popular activity for DofE participants to complete for their skills section. As an AAP, young people who want to learn first aid with us will know that our programme meets the highest standards set by the DofE.

Free first aid resources

To meet the DofE’s requirements, we have produced a first aid self-teach workbook, free to download from our website. The workbook provides young people with everything they need to learn about first aid for the skills section of the Award. It includes suggested activities, worksheets, and case studies. This enables them to put together their own schedule of activity to complete the skills section.

This is only the start, over time we plan to get more of our activities officially approved, including our volunteering opportunities for young people.
