From 1916 to 1919, Veronica Nisbet served as a
nurse at the St John
Ambulance Brigade Hospital at Étaples, near Boulogne in Northern
France. Veronica compiled a scrapbook of photographs,
sketches, press cuttings and cartoons that record her
experiences while working at the hospital, including its bombing by
German planes in 1918.
