This is an exciting opportunity to join our Volunteering Development Team and play a key role in really making a difference in the lives of people in our local communities. The primary responsibility of the Development Officer will be to support the improvement of our existing services as well as the delivery of a range of exciting new projects. You will be part of a wider team collaborating to increase health resilience in communities across England. The post would suit somebody who is a self-driven and great at building relationships with multiple stakeholders.

About You:
- Experience in youth community work or education
- Experience of working with volunteers within a project environment, ideally with experience of designing and developing resources
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people and support teams to deliver agreed outcomes
- High levels of IT literacy with the ability to use digital tools (e.g Microsoft applications)
About The Role:
- Supporting with the development, promotion and implementation of new programmes and initiatives. This includes the creation and maintenance of project documentation and reports
- Coordinating St John people (both virtually and in person) to ensure the effective delivery of these projects, leading small volunteer teams where appropriate
- Acting as the point of contact for day to day enquiries relating to our work and liaise with a range of stakeholders including SJA teams, volunteers, young people and the general public
- Supporting external partnerships and networks appropriate to projects including working groups and forums ensuring engagement with young people and/or volunteers at all times
- Acting as the subject matter expert relating to volunteer activity and providing guidance to other teams
