St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.

Job Summary

The postholder is responsible for all data analytics and governance activities . They drive cultural change putting Data and Analytics at the heart of the charity. They lead the data transformation that enables powered-by data decision making, ensuring business readiness for change. They are responsible for data infrastructure development, people upskilling, establishing governance and predictive model deployment activities. They work with a variety of stakeholders and systems to meet data management, analysis, MI and operational data needs.

About You

To be successful in this role, education to Degree in computing or data science related subject and Recognised certification in a technical data capability such as SQL. Excellent understanding of data management technologies including relational databases, integration and ETL processes and Experience leading strategic data-related initiatives.

About the Role

• Lead work to plan and implement data transformation in alignment with the Data Strategy inclusive of people, process and technology change.
• Manage Data Engineers and Analysts team members to deliver outputs to the expected standards and timelines
• Support the use of data systems to ensure adherence to legal and company standards, in partnership with Information Governance staff
• Monitor and analyse information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.).
