As we embark on a strategic reduction of our property portfolio, we are looking for an Interim Head of Property to manage all aspects of the day-to-day St John estate. Reporting to the Director of Operational Support you will ensure through effective strategy, policy and procedures, that our estate is financially, legally and environmentally sustainable. Key to this role will be to undertake a detailed review of all operational property expenditure and identify initiatives to reduce this. 

 

The role is an initial 12-month fixed term contract and will require national travel on an as needed basis.

About You:

You will have experience working at a senior level in estate management across a large estate portfolio.  

 

About The Role

  • Manage all estates and facilities operational functions including building, electrical and mechanical services, estates contract management, statutory compliance, cyclical and minor works programs and Utilities/energy management contracts and services
  • Be directly responsible for providing informed, timely and accurate advice to the Board and Senior Management Team on all major aspects of Estates and Facilities Management on the retained estate.
  • Ensure terms of property leases are regularly reviewed and maintenance regime compliance is maintained and updated. To include liaison with solicitors, surveyors, landlords and other professionals
  • Prepare, balance and manage the Property budgets and properly administer the budgets allocated in accordance with the Financial Regulations and Capital and Revenue budget allocations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, contractors and lessors to achieve win/win outcomes, providing contracts and leases which protect our interests and support the strategic programme delivery
