St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Engagement, Experience, and Communication Partner to join our team. This role is crucial for enhancing employee engagement, optimising people experience, and ensuring effective internal communication. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.
This role will provide insight, expertise and support on engagement and communications activities designed to embed the conditions for sustainable transformation programme, influence behaviour and culture change across St John and improve and maximise our employee and volunteer experience. They will develop our engagement and communications plan, aligned to the overall business objectives and performance measures.
Using the insights from the engagement and wellbeing lead and our performance and data metrics, the role holder will design and deliver targeted accessible engagement activity, to ensure we are responsive to the needs of all St John people within an inclusive, connected, compassionate and safe culture across St John.
The role will be responsible for delivering the Pulse surveys and for providing support and mechanisms to help managers and teams take action based on feedback received.
About You
To be successful in this role, you need to Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5, Relevant professional qualification accredited by the CIPR, CIM or equivalent, have a proven experience in setting and implementing a clear internal communications strategy and can demonstrate where change contributed to an increased the positive perception of communication, experience of success in internal communications and engagement with stakeholders including activities relating to surveying of our people and ability to develop a clear and robust communications campaign.
About the Role
- Develop and implement an engagement and communications strategy which supports the delivery of strategic priorities, ensures key messages are communicated consistently and encourages two way communication and feedback
- Organise and lead initiatives, events, and programs that foster a positive and inclusive culture and psychological safety
- Design and manage St John people experience strategies to enhance overall satisfaction and loyalty.
- Create and execute comprehensive internal communication plans.
- Responsible for the shaping and development of a compelling strategic narrative, reflecting our people & culture objectives and transformation & recovery planning, as the golden thread in a connected communications and engagement plan for both employees and volunteers
