St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
The Senior Finance Business Partner (Community Engagement) is a key leadership role within the FP&A team and is responsible for driving financial analysis and insights across our Community Engagement Network providing best-in-class financial business partnering to the Fundraising, Volunteering and Youth teams, with high quality analysis and business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making.
The incumbent will be a key member of the Community Engagement Leadership Team, supporting the Chief Experience Officer and work closely with the network Directors. With support from direct reports, the role is responsible for providing business partnering including the delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process and interim forecasts, ensuring they are aligned to strategic operational plans.
The Senior Finance Business Partner must be self-motivated and impactful with first class financial planning and business partnering experience. This role requires gravitas and presence, with excellent communication and the confidence to present a logical argument and constructive challenge; to be the critical friend.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have a Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), Significant experience in delivering accurate budgets and forecasts and experience in leading a team to deliver a best-in-class business partnering service across an organisation.
About The Role
- Provide strong support to the Head of FP&A through the delivery of high-quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services.
- Provide financial acumen, support and challenge to the networks team, including efficiency reviews, business cases and strategic planning to optimise the charity’s resources
- Lead on the analysis and review of information and processes (including cost base and pricing for fundraising grants) to ensure SJA achieves value for money, sustainability and maximise their commercial output and resource efficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial reporting, forecasting and analysis.
