The Cadet Demonstrator course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to deliver set courses to our people. Topics covered in the training include:

• Planning & managing learning
• Effective communication
• Responding to learner feedback
• How to structure a session

By the end of the course, you’ll be a fully qualified Cadet Demonstrator, ready to start delivering courses.

Cadet Demonstrators deliver exclusively from set content and are currently involved in the following courses:

• Cadet Buddy training
• Youth Leader Fundamentals
• Cadet 10-hour First Aid
• Unit training sessions available on the Training Resource Hub

Cadet Demonstrators also help our Trainers with several courses, including Cadet Operational First Aid. As a Cadet Demonstrator, you will find there are lots of opportunities to play a meaningful and helpful role in delivering courses. Once a Cadet turns 18 they will be able to continue their Demonstrator role as an adult volunteer.

Our Cadet Leadership courses can help you to develop the skills needed to be an effective Leader, our Cadet Leadership programme consists of 2 levels:

Cadet Leadership 1 (13+)

This is the first leadership development course available to Cadets and enables you to learn the basic skills of leadership through a variety of activities. During the course, there will be an introduction into leadership methods, and you will learn how to lead different aspects of the Cadet programme. You will explore a variety of ideas to enable you to become a highly effective Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) at your unit and achieve significant personal development. There will be a 'passing-out parade' at the end of the course to which parents are encouraged to attend.

After completing Cadet Leadership 1 you will be eligible to apply for promotion to Corporal and Sergeant within your Unit once the role become available.

Cadet Leadership 2 (15+)

Building on your knowledge from Cadet Leadership 1, this course will largely be an informal style and will include training sessions and group sessions to develop your leadership and teamwork skills ready to use back in your unit. As with Cadet Leadership 1, there is a formal parade on completion of the course.
Upon completing Cadet Leadership 2 you will be eligible to be promoted to Leading Cadet within your Unit once the role becomes available.
Our Cadet Leadership courses can help you develop your public speaking skills, and your ability to identify good leadership. You'll be able to set a great example to your fellow Cadets. You also might be able to take on more responsibility within your unit.
