Welcome to the St John Ambulance hub in West Bromwich. This is the heart of so many of our operations. Here we maintain our ambulances and make sure they’ve got all the lifesaving supplies our crews need – preparing them for whatever emergency they may face. Without gifts like yours made to St John, none of this would be possible. So, take a look around – and discover exactly what your donation could do.
Sandra has been part of the St John family for 40 years. Today, she’s a Fleet Administrator.
Sandra’s job is to help coordinate the ambulances and crews in her fleet, and keep all the essential records up to date. She helps make sure we comply with all government guidelines and regulations – without her, we couldn’t do what we do.
Ollie is a Logistics volunteer, which means he’s responsible for making sure our day-to-day operations run smoothly. He provides vital support to our frontline volunteer team before, during and after emergencies – everything from replenishing first aid kits to participating in training.
Bekki is part of our emergency ambulance crew – trained and ready to respond to any emergency, including 999 calls. When someone’s in trouble, she’ll be right there – on the frontline – assessing patients and providing emergency, sometimes life saving treatment.
Chris is an Ambulance Locality Manager. His job is to support frontline workers and volunteers on a day-to-day basis. From the St John hub, he is on hand to ensure the delivery of safe and appropriate emergency services. This means managing the ambulances and crews within his area and making sure that there are sufficient vehicles and equipment available at all times.
Volunteers are the heart of St John. That means we take their welfare seriously – and donations to St John will make sure we do.
This vehicle is prepped with everything our first aiders might need when volunteering at a large event or responding to a major incident.
This new multifunctional frontline ambulance can be used for emergencies or at events. A larger interior working space, built-in stretcher and improved engine make this ambulance our most efficient and effective yet.
Donations help to pay for our fleet of state-of-the-art ambulances, including 4x4 vehicles like this one.
This ambulance is designed to cope with severe weathers and difficult terrains. In an emergency situation, it means our volunteers can get to patients that can’t be reached with traditional medical vehicles.
When not in crisis mode, you’ll find these ambulances, and their crews, on hand at events across the country.
Our volunteers dedicated over 260,000 hours to community response, ambulance transport and hospital support from April 2020 to January 2021 – all with the help of donations.
